Plein Air Easel - Digital Build Kit

This is a full digital kit for building your own version of my plein air easel. This kit contains both digital vector files for laser cutting or CNC and a detailed instruction guide for assembly and a parts list of additional pieces needed.

The easel is 7"x12"x3.4" closed and opens to double the size, although if you're familiar with basic vector software like Adobe Illustrator then the files can easily be tweaked to any size you'd prefer.

This easel is a design I worked on that combines my favorite aspects of different currently available plein air painting easels, including:

• adjustable torque hinges
• 1/4"-20 threaded insert compatible with standard camera tripod mounts that can be attached on either upper or lower half of the easel
• interchangeable base plates with embedded magnets (one with water cup cutout and one without)
  • you can design any custom additional base plates you'd like using the provided file
• closes completely flat for easy transport

The easel itself is built from several pieces that need to be lasercut. The laser cut files are part of the digital bundle, and for those without access to a laser cutter I suggest several services that allow you to upload the files and then they ship you the cut pieces. This package contains:

• digital vector files for wooden pieces (in .svg or .dxf format)
• 14 page assembly instruction booklet
• detailed additional parts list

The wooden pieces should be cut from 1/4" material such as Baltic birch plywood or other 1/4" material.
